Bangladesh Police Service Association has urged the government to reconsider its decision to change the police uniform.
The organization further said that instead of spending huge sums on new uniforms, it would be more logical to invest in modernizing the force, providing vehicles at the police station level and increasing logistics support.
The statement signed by the association’s general secretary and Cumilla district superintendent of police (SP) MD Anisuzzaman was issued on Monday.
According to the statement, the new uniform selected for Bangladesh Police by the interim government has ignored important factors such as the skin color of the officers, weather conditions of the country and the opinions of police members.
