Angry locals vandalized several vehicles and torched a bus blocking the Dhaka-Aricha Highway for about two hours following the death of a person in a road accident in Savar on Wednesday morning.
The accident occurred around 8:45am when the unidentified man was crossing the highway in Aminbazar area, Prothom Alo reports.
The angry people put blockade on the highway at about 9:00am, halting the traffic movement and stranding hundreds of vehicles on the both sides of the highway.
The mob also vandalised several vehicles and set fire to one bus during their blockade.
Traffic movement on the highway came to normalcy around 11:00am when Savar police rushed to the spot and assured the agitating people to take necessary steps against the offenders.
