The important question here is that how did these Rohingyas get Bangladeshi passports? While the genuine citizens of the country face various kinds of harassment in getting their passports made, the Rohingyas get passports just like this. The mystery behind this also needs to be exposed.
Just when the government is about to renew 69,000 passports to ensure that Rohingya migrants living in Saudi Arabia can continue to live in that country, more than one million (10 lakh) Rohingyas are living in Bangladesh. No effective initiative has been taken to bring back these Rohingya migrants.
There was no positive message in the conversation with Donald Lu, America's Assistant Secretary of State for Central and South Asia. He said that the situation in Myanmar is not yet favorable for Rohingya to return home. Then will Bangladesh alone have to bear the responsibility of those millions of Rohingyas?
It must be kept in mind that these Rohingya migrants are not only creating serious pressure on our public life, environment and economy but are also spreading drugs.
