Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen has said it may be possible to send some Rohingya men back to Myanmar from their shelters in Cox’s Bazar before the next parliamentary elections under a pilot project.
He made the statement on Friday at an event in Cox’s Bazar, which was organized by his embassy to hand over medical equipment to the 250-bed Sadar Hospital in the district town.
“Under the pilot project, there are full preparations to start the repatriation process by sending Rohingya men back to Myanmar. However, this is a long process which cannot be completed overnight,” he said.
