Rohit, Jadeja’s centuries help India score 326-5 in England Test

Centuries from captain Rohit Sharma and Ravindra Jadeja helped India recover from early setbacks and regain dominance on the first day of the third Test against England on Thursday.

India reached 326-5 at stumps after Sarfaraz Khan rattled the opposition attack with 62 on debut in Rajkot.

After Sarfaraz was run out, at the end of the game, left-handed Jadeja was batting on 110 runs and Kuldeep Yadav was batting on one run.

England fast bowler Mark Wood took three wickets, including two early wickets, as India fell to 33-3 before Rohit, who scored 131, and Jadeja combined for 204.

The marathon stand is India’s first century partnership and the best ever by any team in the five-match series tied at 1-1.

Rohit fell to Wood in the final session but Sarfaraz came into limelight when he faced the bowlers with regular boundaries including a straight six off Tom Hartley.
