In the current scenario, independent MPs have the opportunity to form a non-partisan alliance and petition the Speaker of Parliament to nominate the opposition from among themselves.
However, discussions with several independent MPs revealed that most of them are reluctant to join the opposition. Despite being an independent MP, he prefers to associate himself with the ruling Awami League, as he is affiliated with the party. The question arises whether Awami League will include these independent candidates in its camp.
Nevertheless, some independent candidates are open to the idea of forming a coalition to form the opposition in Parliament. As of now, no definite decision has been taken on the distribution of reserved women seats among independent MPs. Also, there has been no official discussion yet among independent MPs regarding these matters.
