The university’s Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professor Sultan-ul-Islam, Proctor Professor Ashbul Haque, Student Advisor M Tarek Noor, Assistant Proctor Zakir Hussain and Professor of Theater Department Ataur Rahman Raju were present during the scuffle with the students.
Later, other students gathered in front of the administration building and raised various slogans against the incident.
Earlier, at 10.30 am, the second year students of the Urdu Department sat on a hunger strike in front of the administrative building of the university, demanding re-evaluation of the examination results. When the university administration wanted to hold talks, the students declared that they would continue the hunger strike until their demands were met.
