Rural phone network remained stalled for two hours. wreaked havoc

GP’s Head of Network Services, AKM Al-Amin, who was present at the briefing, said the situation had become critical as the three severed cables were considered the “backbone cables” of their network.

Dhaka, Chattogram and several other parts of the country lost power shortly after 11:30 am on Thursday, knocking out voice and internet service.

According to Grameenphone’s head of communications, Khairul Bashar, who briefed reporters, the network was back at around 2 pm.
