Hutchins was killed when actor Alec Baldwin fired a live round from a gun he was using during rehearsals. Director Joel Souza was injured.
The state’s Occupational Health and Safety Bureau (OHSB) said in a statement that “RMP violated workplace safety laws when firearms were used on set, resulting in employees being shot.”
Under the settlement, RMP’s fine is the largest workplace safety fine in New Mexico in more than a decade, but was reduced from the original citation of $136,793, according to the OHSB.
