Karan isn’t the only big buy to disappoint.

Australian all-rounder Cameron Green has been decent if not brilliant, hitting 274 to help Mumbai climb to third in the table but taking only six wickets.

Green was the second costliest buy in the December auction when Mumbai Indians paid Rs 17.5 crore ($2.11 million) for him.

Several Englishmen have failed to live up to the hype – a worry for the country ahead of the Ashes and one-day World Cup.

England Test captain Ben Stokes was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 162 million but managed only two stellar performances before being benched due to injury.

Harry Brook is another Englishman who hasn’t been at his destructive best despite hitting his first century of this edition last month.

Brook, bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad, has scored just 63 runs in eight matches.

The right-handed batsman is at 51st position in the run table.

Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle said, “I was very excited to see Harry Brook.”

“I thought Brooke and Skye (Suryakumar Yadav), these were the two players that I thought, ‘Wow! Let’s see them go head to head’.”

I saw (Brooke’s) century in Kolkata but I am a bit disappointed with what happened after that.
