The unveiling comes as South Korean company Samsung is racing to develop its own generative AI model called Gauss, which comes across the three areas of language, code and image, and is currently used among the company’s employees.
Without specifying timing or model, the company will incorporate the AI system into a wide range of its products in the near future.
The company said Samsung’s Language AI will be able to help with everything from writing emails to summarizing documents, while Code AI will help developers “code easily and quickly.”
It says Samsung’s AI on images will be able to convert low-resolution images to high-resolution ones, and will also be able to create and edit images.
Choi Won-joon, head of Samsung’s smartphone R&D sector, said in a statement that embedded generative AI will “forever change the way we think about our phones”.
