Sangeet Saamna: PM Hasina urges accountability for arson-terrorism supporters

Sheikh Hasina said that some people have raised questions as to how Awami League got such a large number of seats.

He said, Awami League has received public support time and again because it has been proved that whenever the party takes power, it serves the people and changes their fortunes and destiny.

He said, in the next five years, the Awami League government will implement its election manifesto of 2024.

“It is our only resolve that during our five-year tenure, we will implement the promises that we have made in the election manifesto,” he said.

He said the election promises would also be reflected in the next national budget.

Mentioning that his new cabinet has taken some decisions, he said the government will take up and implement development projects for the welfare of the country and complete the ongoing schemes expeditiously.

Sheikh Hasina said that the government will also take effective steps to control inflation.

He said they have also decided to keep the prices of commodities at a tolerable level during the holy month of Ramzan by controlling prices and ensuring their supply in the markets.

He reiterated that the government would continue its “zero tolerance policy against corruption”.

The Prime Minister said he would ensure transparency and accountability in public procurement.

In addition, he said, they will ensure the right individuals become beneficiaries of social safety net programs, groom new entrepreneurs, fill vacancies in government services, diversify the export basket, produce new products, promote the export of Bangladeshi goods. Will search for new export markets. To promote the development of agro-processed goods and industry, ensure facilities and incentives for leather, jute goods and other goods, such as those now enjoyed by readymade garments.
