A provincial spokesman said 15 people were killed in an explosion on Wednesday at a religious school during prayer time in northern Afghanistan’s Samangan province.
Imdadullah Muhajir, spokesman for Samangan’s provincial government, said at least 20 people were wounded in the explosion in the provincial capital Aibak.
“Around 12.45 pm there was a blast at the Jahdiya Madrasa in the heart of the city. Many boys are studying in this Madrasa (religious school),” he said.
It was not immediately clear who was behind the blast. Muhajir said that the investigation has started.
