Second edition of Banglapedia hits market

Second edition of fourteen part Banglapedia is released. Banglapedia is known as national encyclopedia of Bangladesh. This encyclopedia contains information on history of Bangladesh, literature, culture, science and technology. First edition of Banglapedia was released in 2003 after thirty two years of liberation.

Many prominent personalities tried to make an encyclopedia on this region. But Banglapedia was the first complete encyclopedia. It has Bengali and English both version. It was also released in DVD. Content of Banglapedia is also available freely on the internet. Website: www.banglapedia.org

Professor Dr. Sirajul Islam is the editor of the second edition like the first edition. Though it’s a project of Bangladesh Asiatic Society, Bangladesh government also backed the project.

This new edition has eight thousand articles and features written by about two thousand writers.
