Earlier on July 2, the Finance Ministry issued a circular suspending the purchase of all types of new vehicles for government offices to maintain austerity to deal with the economic crisis induced by the Russia-Ukraine war.
As per Monday’s circular, Grade I and II officers in various ministries, divisions, departments and directorates are allowed to purchase vehicles worth Tk 14.5 million, and in that case, the engine capacity of the vehicle shall not exceed 2,700cc.
