“There is no problem with the server”
However, Registrar General, Rashidul Hasan, did not admit to any server problems. He told Prothom Alo that many people are not aware of the application process. Additionally, local offices are struggling to operate smoothly due to a lack of skilled personnel. They blame the server for problems and reject applicants, even though the server itself is not the problem.
When asked whether the capacity of the server would be increased or not, the Registrar General said that everything required for the proper functioning of the server has already been taken care of.
“The server should be made user friendly”
Professor BM Mainul Hossain, director of the Institute of Information Technology at Dhaka University, shared with Prothom Alo that when installing a server, it is necessary to determine the performance of the server based on how many people can use it simultaneously. It is important to identify the reasons for improper functioning of the server. If server capacity is insufficient it should be increased.
He further said, any bug or error in the server code should be rapidly identified and fixed, and efforts should be made to enhance the user-friendliness of the server. If the public cannot use the server effectively, it symbolizes a failure in the system designed to provide the intended service. It is essential to provide step-by-step guides in a user-friendly manner, ensuring that users know what to do. Due to various reasons, people are being deprived of proper service due to servers not working properly.
