Arjina Khatoon, a housewife from Amrulabari village, located near Chikli river in Badarganj, said, “Cold air enters the house at night. Hands and legs become numb. “We are barely surviving with torn blankets.”

Pathanerhat market trader Abdur Rashid said, “There is dense fog from morning till evening. Customers do not come in the morning and do not stay after 6:00 pm. Sales have declined due to cold weather.”

MD Mustafizur Rahman, meteorologist of Rangpur office of Bangladesh Meteorological Department, said that the lowest temperature recorded in Rangpur was 15.5 degrees Celsius.

He warned that the temperature is not likely to rise in a day or two, rather it may fall further.
