Left-arm spinners Shakib Al Hasan and Taijul Islam took four wickets each to restrict India’s first innings lead to 87 runs in their second Test at the Sher-e-Bangla Cricket Stadium on Friday.
Bangladesh openers Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain saw off six difficult overs late in the evening and ended the day with seven wickets without loss in their second innings.
India’s Rishabh Pant and Shreyas Iyer scored 93 and 87 respectively and put on 159 for the fifth wicket to give the visitors a big lead. Once the stand was broken, Bangladesh took the last six wickets for 61 runs to stage a comeback as India were all out for 314 in reply to Bangladesh’s 227.
