Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is not cowed by the threat of BNP agitation to oust the government.

Addressing the inaugural session of the 30th convention of the Road and Highway Engineers’ Association in Tejgaon, he said, “People laugh at the danger of their (BNP) movement…many people do many kinds of speculations. Will have to. But nothing happened.” in the capital.

Quader said that with the touch of modernity, Bangladesh is now moving ahead in step with the developed countries, if BNP does something peacefully, the government will welcome its peaceful stand.

“However, if anyone damages public property and their lives, strict action will be taken,” he warned.

Regarding the obsolete caretaker government system, the AL Secretary General reiterated that the system will never return to this country.
