Sheikh Kabir Hossain, former president of the Bangladesh Insurance Association, passed away on Saturday. He was 84.
He breathed his last around 11am while undergoing treatment at Square Hospital in Dhaka.
Kabir was also a former president of the Association of Private Universities of Bangladesh.
He served as chairperson of Sonar Bangla Insurance Limited, Khan Shaheb Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain Foundation, Central Depository Bangladesh Limited, and founding chairperson of Holy Family Red Crescent Medical College Hospital.
Kabir’s namaz-e-janaza was held in Tungipara after the Esha prayer. He will be buried at the family graveyard.
Sheikh Kabir Hossain was born on February 3, 1942, in Gopalganj district. His father was Sheikh Mosharraf Hossain and his mother was Rahela Khatun. He completed his Master’s degree at the University of Dhaka.
