Earlier today, on Sunday, a court granted bail to Shireen Sharmin Chaudhary in a case registered at Lalbagh police station in the capital, in which she was accused of violence, vandalism and attempt to murder during the mass insurgency. Following the defence’s plea, the court of Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate of Dhaka Mohammad Zakir Hossain granted his bail.
Last Tuesday, in the same case, the court had rejected the remand application of Shirin Sharmin Chaudhary and ordered to send her to jail.
The Detective Branch (DB) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested Shirin Sharmin Chowdhury from a residence in Dhanmondi on Tuesday morning.
