West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has made this allegation publicly. Without any objection, he said that such surveys were conducted under the direction of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
He said, “These surveys are being used to show BJP’s victory. Their purpose is to break the morale of the opposition.”
This time, out of the agencies releasing the exit poll results, five have put BJP ahead, while two have put Trinamool Congress ahead.
The Trinamool leader said on Thursday, “The same strategy was used by the BJP in 2016, 2021 and 2024 also. The survey agencies were pressurized to say that the BJP was winning. Everyone knows what the actual results were. This time too, the Trinamool Congress will win 226 seats. It may even reach 230.”
Like previous elections, Axis My India published exit polls for Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Puducherry.
However, although it provided estimates for other states, it remained silent on West Bengal.
