Despite high hopes of sealing their place in the Super Eight stage of the tournament and ending their group campaign with a fourth successive win, South Africa's top order failed to dominate the bowling although opener Reeza Hendricks provided some stability to the innings with a 49-ball 43 (five fours, a six).
Nepal bowlers looked in rhythm throughout the innings, with only Tristan Stubbs' (27 not out off 18 balls) effort causing them some concern, after which Bhurtel finished the innings by dismissing Marco Jansen and Kagiso Rabada on consecutive balls.
“I think I am very proud of my team, especially the way we bowled and batted,” Nepal captain Paudel said. “I think we fought very well. If we get more chances in games like this, we will be on the other side.”
