South Africa defeated England by 229 runs

Heinrich Klaasen’s brilliant World Cup century helped South Africa beat England by a record 229 runs in Mumbai on Saturday, leaving the champions’ title defense hanging by a thread.

Despite being troubled repeatedly by cramps, Klaasen scored 109, helping South Africa post a mammoth score of 399–7.

England were then promptly bowled out for 170 and suffered their biggest defeat in ODIs, their third defeat in four World Cup matches, leaving them struggling to qualify for the semi-finals.
