After visiting Prothom Alo’s burnt-out office, the Spanish ambassador said, “I was not in Bangladesh at the time of the terrorist attack on the Prothom Alo office last December, and so I could not visit immediately after the violence. On my return to Dhaka, I would like to express my sincere condemnation of the attack on Prothom Alo a few weeks ago, and I would also like to express my appreciation as well as my solidarity and support for the work that the media does in a democratic society.”
Prothom Alo’s executive editor Sajjad Sharif welcomed the Spanish ambassador to the newspaper’s office.
