We were hopeful that the militants snatched in this operation would be caught. But the law and order forces could not trace the two missing terrorists or the terrorists who abducted them. Earlier in 2014, three JMB members were abducted through attacks on a prison van in Trishal, Mymensingh. It is unacceptable that a government that has been successful in counter-terrorist operations is now failing relentlessly.

According to the police headquarters, there are warrants against about 15,968 people arrested in various cases. Also, around 5,132 cases have been registered during the drive.

Police seized 24 firearms, 200,000 pieces of yaba, 8.06 kg of heroin and 5,415 bottles of phensedyl. These recoveries are part of regular drives and do not require any special arrangements.

The BNP alleged that the police launched an operation to disrupt their scheduled rally in Dhaka on 10 December. They arrested many party leaders and workers.
