Roads across the capital, including the Farmgate and Caravan Bazaar areas, were almost empty on Sunday morning. In the morning, more rickshaws and CNG-powered auto-rickshaws were seen plying in Panthpath, Mohammedpur, Green Road, Caravan Bazaar, Agargaon and Fakirapool areas, while there was less movement of cars and buses.

Shahadat Hussain, who worked in a private company in Motijheel, was waiting for the bus at the farm gate. He said, “A bus arrived some time ago but I could not board it due to the huge crowd. Besides, I was also a little scared. I heard that many buses were burnt yesterday Saturday. On the other hand, auto-rickshaws running on CNG were also charging higher fares.
