The Prime Minister said, during the monsoon season, excessive rainfall leads to flash floods and river erosion in the area, on the other hand, during the dry season, the water flow reduces significantly and comes close to zero at many places.
Tariq Rehman said that due to heavy sediment flow during the rainy season, silt gets accumulated in the river, due to which it gets divided into several channels.
In this context, Bangladesh Water Development Board has completed the survey on implementation of Teesta Master Plan, he said
