They have agreed to several ceasefires but none have held effectively as the civilian death toll continues to rise and Khartoum is gripped by chaos and anarchy.
Many people in this city of half a million inhabitants are trapped in their homes without food, water and electricity.
“God forbid if Sudan were to reach a point of civil war… Syria, Yemen, Libya would be a short game,” Hamdok said in a conversation with Sudan-born telecom tycoon Mo Ibrahim at an event in Nairobi.
“I think it would be a nightmare for the world,” he said, adding that it would have many effects.
He said that the current conflict was a “senseless war” between the two armies.
