Suryakumar Yadav’s unbeaten century helped Mumbai Indians beat defending Indian Premier League (IPL) champions Gujarat Titans by 27 runs in Mumbai on Friday.
The world’s top-rated Twenty20 batsman smashed 103 off 49 balls, hitting six sixes and 11 fours, to take his team to 218-5 and overcame an inspired all-round performance from Afghanistan and Gujarat veteran spinner Rashid Khan.
Khan, who took an earlier 4-30, scored an unbeaten 32-ball 79 with ten sixes to take Gujarat to 191-8 in reply from 103-8 in the 14th over.
