As per his job application, Manager (Branding & Marketing) Ronjeet Kumar completed Bachelor of Arts Gol-e-Afroz Government College, Singra in Natore. He was Private Officer to Minister of State for ICT since 2015 and Assistant Private Secretary to Minister of State since 2019.
For the post of Manager (Branding & Marketing), a minimum of five years of experience in Government or Private Organizations was required.
Age was not a problem for Ronjit Kumar, but he is directly associated with politics. Ishtiaq Ahmed, president of Nator’s Swachhsebak League unit, told the first ALO’s Nator reporter that Ronjit Kumar became the vice-president in Singra’s Swachhsebak League unit committee in October 2022. He was recently made the acting chairman of the committee.
However, Ronjit Kumar on Wednesday claimed to Prothom Alo that he no longer holds any post in the SwachhSebak League and resigned from his post before joining this job. At one stage of this conversation he said that according to the Companies Act there is no problem in holding office in any organization.
Ronjit Kumar joined the BDCCL in December 2022, but a press release signed by Abu Toha Talukdar, the organizing secretary of Singra’s Swachhsebak League unit, stated on 1 May that Ronjit Kuram has been made acting president of the unit in absentia.
According to the Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1979, no government servant shall participate in, subscribe to aid or assist in any manner whatsoever in any political agitation in Bangladesh or relating to the affairs of Bangladesh.
Speaking to Prothom Allo, BDCCL Managing Director Zohra Begum said that she has heard about Ranjit Kumar’s involvement in politics from this correspondent and she will look into the matter.
