But Mahiuddin dismissed the claim, “These are all lies. I run two clubs. Apart from that, I also have an academy. I don’t have anything else. If every club agrees, I am ready to include a relegation league.”
The boycott has caused financial loss to the cricketers. Sylhet CWAB is now planning to organize a tournament called Ragib Ali T20 Cricket Tournament. Sylhet CWAB, president of the Sylhet Cricketers’ Association and former national team left-arm spinner Enamul Haque Jr expressed hope that the tournament would benefit cricketers financially. But this is, at best, a temporary solution.
Enamul wants an early end to the conflict, “We don’t want to go against anyone. We had raised a demand, which was not fulfilled. Now, they need to assure us that the standards will be good. We also want to get back on the field.”
