Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has announced the names of its nominated candidates for reserved women seats in the 13th National Parliament. According to sources in the party’s press wing, the total 36 candidates in the list include Selima Rehman, Nipun Roy Chowdhury and Sanjeeda Islam Tuli.

BNP candidate Abul Kalam Azad Siddiqui got 141,253 votes with the symbol of paddy. His nearest rival, Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Abdullah Talukdar got 71,040 votes with the scales symbol. Bangladesh Republican Party candidate MD Tofajzal Hossain received 1,492 votes with the elephant election symbol. Tangail’s Assistant Returning Officer Suraiya Yasmin confirmed the election results.
