Popular English daily The Daily Star has dismissed its executive director Syed Ashfaqul Haq with immediate effect. “The management of The Daily Star has issued a notice of dismissal to the newspaper's executive editor, Syed Ashfaqul Haq,” the newspaper said in a notice on its website on Tuesday. The notice comes into effect immediately.”
