Lucky Das, assistant commissioner (land) of Naria upazila, told Prothom Alo that the joint forces went to a house in Naria municipality after receiving information that Jamaat-e-Islami activists were distributing money for election purposes. On receiving the information she also went there. A list related to distribution of money, a laptop and a hard disk have been recovered from the spot. Taka 720,000 were seized from there.
A government primary school teacher, who was in-charge of a polling booth, was found inside the office. Since he failed to explain why he was there, action was taken against him under the law. Money and other items were confiscated. The judge of the Election Investigation and Judicial Committee held a mobile court and handed down prison sentences.
