Bangladesh defeated Zimbabwe by seven wickets, chasing a target of 200 with 14 overs to spare in the third one-day international at the Harare Sports Club on Saturday.
Zimbabwe won the opening two matches to win the three-match series 2–1.
Tanjid Hasan scored 94 off 101 balls and Soumya Sarkar scored 69 off 82 balls, as the pair added 151 runs for the first wicket, Bangladesh’s highest opening partnership against Zimbabwe in ODIs.
With Bangladesh’s score at 151, Tanaka Chiwanga bowled out Soumya in the 28th over. Tanzeed fell six runs short of his maiden ODI century when he was caught out attempting a six with Bangladesh needing three runs to win. Nazmul Hossain Shanto remained unbeaten on 18 runs and completed the chase.
