Taufiq-e-Ilahi Chowdhury, Energy Advisor to the Prime Minister, has said that although petroleum and gas prices are falling in the international market, the government will not make downward adjustments in electricity and gas tariffs until a stabilisation.
He made the remarks while unveiling a publication titled Empowering Bangladesh by the Forum for Energy Reporters Bangladesh (FERB) at the DPDC conference room in Bidyut Bhawan in the city on Thursday, UNB reported.
“It is not clear how long this trend of reduction in fuel prices will continue. But only if a stable situation comes, the government will think of a downward adjustment,” he told reporters.
