Touhedul also served in various capacities at the Bangladesh Permanent Mission to the United Nations in New York, the Bangladesh Embassy in Jakarta and the Bangladesh Consulate General in Los Angeles.
The ambassador, serving at the United Nations Headquarters in New York, was elected as the Vice-Chairman of the Second Committee at the 67th session of the UNGA.
Touhedul served in various capacities in various bilateral and multilateral wings in the Ministry of External Affairs.
