Now, a section of unscrupulous traders are taking advantage of this situation and conspiring to drive up the price. They are trying to take advantage of the increased demand during Ramadan.
Golam Rahman, general secretary of Bangladesh Sugar Refiners Association, said that it is the social reality here that whenever an accident happens, there are attempts to take advantage.
“There is sufficient stock of sugar in the remaining factories, imports are also continuing. Therefore, there will be no shortage of sugar in the market,” he assured.
