Jessore board chairman attended a reception in a school amid three day mourning declared by
the government following the tragic accident which killed about 40 school boys and shocked
the nation.
Apparently he is withdrawn because of his attendance in the reception. Now he is an OSD,
that means officer on special duty. A peculiar system that govt. frequently applies. Govt.
may keep any of his officers if it thinks one should not be in duty. In this case he gets
his full salary, but very insulting to his efficiency.
Jessore board secretary will do chairman’s job before new chairman is given.
Critics are terming this action as eyewash. Govt. has not taken any steps against those
teachers who sent the school boys like cattle on a truck.
