Anindya said, “The present government is an elected government and we have a responsibility towards the people. In that spirit of responsibility, we have been working to reduce the suffering of the people or at least keep it at a tolerable level since the very first day of assuming power.”

He said, “We have repeatedly said that there is no fuel or electricity crisis in Bangladesh at present. However, recently we have seen long queues at petrol pumps. The question may arise as to why there are long queues, and the media has already clarified this issue.”

“Our normal demand in the last five days of last week was practically two to three times the normal. Despite fuel supply, in many cases we have not been able to ease people’s anxiety,” he said.
