The mutilated remains of five-year-old Alina Islam Ayat were recovered around 3 pm on Wednesday.
Police recovered the remains from a canal in Bandartila Akmal Ali Marg area of Chattogram city.
PBI Chattogram Inspector Manoj Kumar, who is also the investigating officer of the case, confirmed the case to Prothom Alo.
