Reflecting on her character in 'The Shameless', Sengupta shared deep insights, saying, “Fighting for freedom, hoping, loving, and more than this film being about a sex worker, it's all about love and hope.”

The 2024 Indian film 'The Shameless', directed and written by Konstantin Bozhanov, made a splash at the 77th Cannes Film Festival, where it competed in the Un Certain Regard section. Despite the language barrier, Bozhanov's dedication to the project was particularly noteworthy.

Sengupta praised the director's commitment, saying, “The director had been trying to make this film for 12 years. It's a Hindi film and the director is Bulgarian. He doesn't know Hindi, but it was a beautiful lesson and process for us as actors and artistes. He had to work with a lot of conviction.”
