A leader of the Jubo Dal has alleged that his father was beaten to death by local Awami League leaders and workers in Wari, Dhaka.
Faisal Mehboob Miju, former convenor of Jubo Dal’s Wari unit, claimed that his 70-year-old father died of fatal head injuries in the early hours of Thursday.
However, the police cast doubt on the veracity of the complaint, saying that the man, identified as Mohd Millat Hussain, collapsed following a stroke and in the process hit his head.
Addressing the incident, Miju said that she is away from her home for the last few days as she is actively involved in BNP.
According to him, around 12:30 am on Thursday around 70 people from the Awami League came to his house looking for him. They searched all the rooms, the kitchen and the toilet, but when they did not find Meeju, they tried to kidnap her uncle.
