Plaintiff Mahiuddin Abeer told Prothom Alo that though the case was registered at Kaliakair Police Station, it was later transferred to Ghazipur Detective Police for unknown reasons. After a long investigation, they filed the charge sheet in the court five-six months ago. However, no arrest warrant has been issued against the accused yet. The accused have been seen in public at different times. Even after giving information about these cases to the police, the police has not taken any initiative to arrest them.
Mahiuddin Abir also said that earlier during the DUCSU elections, Rakib was seen campaigning on the campus with VP candidate Abidul Islam. He has also been seen at many other places.
Kaliakair police station in-charge (OC) Khandakar Nasir Uddin said, “The case was investigated by the DB police, so it is also their responsibility to arrest him. If a warrant is issued by the court, it will be our responsibility to arrest him.”
When contacted, Ghazipur detective police in-charge (OC) Mohammad Hasmat Ullah said the operation to arrest the accused was not conducted due to various situations in the country. However, now a campaign will be launched for his arrest.
