A total of 341 accidents took place on road, railways and river routes during this period in which 355 people died and 620 were injured.
Mozammel said that Eid travel this year was 30 percent less than expected due to increase in prices of essential commodities, unprecedented increase in transportation cost, extreme heat and many other factors.
Also, the roads and highways in the country are now in better condition due to the continuous development activities of the government.
He also said that the extension of Eid holiday by one day has also helped in reducing accidents and deaths.
