Mortar shells were also fired in Myanmar on Sunday night after intermittent gunshots were heard from Rakhine state of Myanmar for the last three days.
Some villages in Teknaf near the border were shaken by the explosion of 21 mortar shells between 9:25 pm and 9:58 pm on Sunday night. Shells exploded in Nakpura area near Maungdaw Township in Myanmar.
However, no sound of the explosion was heard till 10:00 am on Monday.
Across the border in Nakapura area are Rakhine parish Chaudharypara and Fuller Deal villages under Hanila Union Council in Teknaf.
Hanila UP President Rashed Mohammad Ali said that the explosion of 21 mortar shells within just 33 minutes created fear among the people in Bangladesh.
