prothom hello,
If BNP is not there, then who will fight against whom in this election?
BNP made a mistake by not participating in this election. They could have used this election to raise their demands before the people. In the absence of BNP, the contest will be between the candidates nominated by the Awami League, i.e. ‘boat’ candidates, and independent candidates. Then at some places there will be competition from Jatiya Party, Trinamool and some other parties. But naturally it will not be the same competition as it would have been if BNP was in the fray.
prothom hello,
Did the BNP not participate in the elections, or was it prevented from participating in the elections? After October 28, 20,000 BNP workers and leaders were arrested. They are not able to participate in the elections even if they want to.
BNP is already in a one-point movement. BNP has said that it will not contest the elections until Sheikh Hasina resigns. That means they want to be confident of victory. After October 28, they carried out vandalism in the name of strike and blockade. They set fire to the trains, killing the mother and child. Violence and democratic politics cannot go together. BNP should first follow democratic politics.
