The energy division on September 12 wrote to Bangladesh Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Corporation Petrobangla, directing it to investigate the complaint against Titus’ managing director (contracts), Haronur Rashid Mulla.
The letter directed Petrobangla to submit the report with comments within a month. Titus Gas Transmission and Distribution Company Limited is a company under Petrobangla that supplies gas to the capital Dhaka and surrounding districts.
In compliance with the directions of the Energy Division, Petrobangla issued an office order on Sunday, constituting a five-member inquiry committee. The organization’s director (administration) Altaf Hussain has been appointed convenor of the committee.
Of the other four members of the inquiry committee, three are Petrobangla officials, and one is from the energy division. Petrobangla Chairman Janendra Nath Sarkar directed to submit the report within 20 days after the investigation.
Haronur Rashid Mulla, while serving as MD of Jalalabad Gas Distribution System Limited, has been appointed as MD of Titus on contractual basis with effect from 29 September 2021, subject to surrender of post-retirement leave (PRL) for one year. was appointed.
In 2022, his contract was renewed for another year. Now, the Energy Department has approved his reappointment as MD on contract basis for another year.
