According to Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics (BBS), headline inflation declined slightly to 9.63 percent in September from 9.92 percent recorded in August.
Nevertheless, food inflation remains a concern, with the figure above 12 per cent in both rural and urban areas in August and September. In August this figure was 12.54 percent.
